To Do List
Posted on 10. Dec, 2009 by Johnathan in Uncategorized
There are just some things that can’t be duplicated or had outside of your home soil. Apart from friends and family, these will be on my list of things to do when I get back in February.
- Milk shakes- they do ice milk here, not a real, thick, sumptuous shake. I’m mean rich, tall glass, stainless steel mixing cup deliciousness.
- Snow boarding- Muju is good, but it’s not like what you get in BC. Really looking forward to using my old gear.
- Olympics- it isn’t a coincidence I’m going home at the same time the Olympics are on in Vancouver. Hockey or figure skating (Kim Yu-Nah) tops the list. I’m not big on figure skating, but it’d be nice to hold up a sign for the Korean contingent.
- Road trip- you can do this here, but traffic is crazy in Korea and you don’t want to be mixed up in the chaotic jams they have during vacation periods. Open space and enforced laws will be appreciated.
- Food- Korean food is excellent, but I’m talking about places I loved when I was back home. BBQ chicken sandwiches from Memphis Blues or dragon bowls at the Naam; these can’t be duplicated.
- Rhubarb pie- yes, mom, I’m talking to you. You’ll want to make two if anybody else wants some.
- Pants- I can’t buy slacks off the rack in Korea because the waist never matches the length. Instead, I get them made for me. But my tailor doesn’t do casual, so I have a choice between shorts and dress pants on garbage days. Same can be said for shoes, which are always a size too small for my feet.

when you come here maybe you should pick up some denim fabric if your tailor would make jeans with it for you.

Hey mom, I don’t think it’s allowed here. I’ll let HJ say more about it as she’ll know more. As for the tailor, I can get any fabric I like here, but he won’t make casual clothing. Thanks for the heads up though!

hi jj?
You had seen me in Seo-Myeon when I walked in the steet parade on Sunday. You took me a photo for bloging and donated for children in the box which was holding in my arms. Do you remember me?
I’m visiting on your blog through Wi-Fi because looking forward to be posted photo and….just want to say Hello!
“Hi, I’m Hyon-Seok, 24Y student, nice to meet you?!”:)

Hey there!
I’m looking forward to posting about your Christmas “demo.” Can you tell me how you guys got started, how long you rally for each time you go out, and how often you go out? The pics of you guys turned out fairly blurry. I’ll try to fix them up a bit, though, so let’s see how it turns out.

Hope this is the last challenge to write a comment..
I finally find your web site but i think there’s some problem in my computer… I continuously fail to comment.
Ah, have you seen the movie ‘My sister’s keeper’? Someone recommended it to me but i found it is a tearjerker. I don’t like that genre but on the other, i want to watch it if it’s not ‘really too much’ sad. So could you tell me about it if you know this? Or if it’s not bother you, could you just recommend some movies so that i can spend my time? (i’m so bored thesedays)
Anyway. I’ll visit here as much as i can

Sorry to hear you’ve had troubles with sending a comment, but thanks for keeping at it. Can’t say I’ve seen that movie; tearjerkers aren’t really my things either. Life has enough drama and I go to movies to get away from that! Give me a happy ending; give me something amazing; not hardship and grief. Are you looking for western movies or just anything? I watched an Israeli animation a couple of weeks back called Waltz with Bashir. That’s about as serious as I’d like my movies to be. You might want to check that out.

I have started for 2weeks(?) yet, but the parade was started about 5years ago, once in every years. And it’s not “Demo” but a event for donation which is helping to poor children, lonely senior citizen.
So we will be Santa Claus only for them.

(Well, if I just can’t find it, then let me know
I saw the movie that you recommended and it was really wonderful! I told the name to one of my friends and she said that it’s a real masterpiece.
Really thank you for recommending.
I have just finished a test for my double major, and the result will be terrible, I think.
Everyone said that it was the easiest one they’ve ever taken but I think it’s the hardest one.
I even spent the whole listening time being absent-minded! How terrible! wwww
Anyway, I’m not going to remind it anymore.
Christmas is soon! Frohe Weihnachten!

Und gluckliches Neues Jahr! Vielen Dank, Frau Leila. First Cyrillic now German, you’re getting your language practice in. Great you and your friends enjoyed the movie. Now you won’t have to cringe when I recommend another. It’s neat how they chose to change the footage to animation, even though it literally was shot on film. Any ideas why they did that?
You must have done well on your test. I know you study hard and reap the rewards . What is your other major?
I’ll try to put together a movie list you might like.
Best holiday wishes
