What would an “uncle” blog be without a niece and nephew to post about? Probably just a pretentious gimmick. It may be that anyway, but regardless, I’ve commandeered a few photos to show off little Katherine (Katie) and Connor (Secret Agent Cute). Katherine just turned 11 and Connor 2 (on St. Patrick’s day). These are the first photos I’ve seen of Connor since he was in a crib, so I’m delighted to be able to post them. Thanks to Theresa and Chris for making these available for the blog.

Katherine, as you can see, is in dance. She is taking ballet and musical theatre. The picture of her in the blue outfit was the Mamma Mia dance with her dance academy. The event included Mamma Mia, Super Trooper, and Dancing Queen. She’s also a burgeoning violinist and has been in French immersion for the last 6 years (not 4 as I originially posted). Hopefully all of her pursuits don’t get in the way of her education (a loving hint).

Connor loves cars, trains, planes and the like. On any given day, like today, he’ll go and watch the planes at the airport with his grandparents. He’s passionate and adventurous, and I hear many think of his uncle when they see him. It’ll be great for me to be able to say that soon too. February is the plan, guys!

Thanks for checking out the site Jeong hun! Yes, I hear they say he is similar to me when I was younger, so I’m excited to get the chance to see him and everyone else soon. I’ll be sure to post lots of pics while I’m there.

We truly miss you little brother. Katie and Connor are getting bigger, and I think of how much you would all enjoy each other. Please let us know what the plan is – when you have it. I don’t want us to miss your visit. You are never far from our thoughts.

The PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) is a summer fair/ amusement park in Vancouver. It was going to change locations due to land rights, but it looks like it has a new lease on life after the city obtained ownership of it. It’s been too long since I’ve been there, so I can’t really tell you what it’s like anymore, but I’m sure someone from out there can help you if they read this.

Interesting information about the PNE. The city was going to relocate it, however when they found a site, the family who donated the original land requested the transfer of ownership back to them. The land is apparently only able to be used by the city for the PNE. If they decide to stop with that, the land reverts back to the family

The PNE pictures were taken by Sandy. You’ll have to remind her to send you some. Also, Rick said that he sent you pictures of Katie in her dirt bike outfit at the IPE (Armstrong fair) the day she learned about biking. I hope that you got them. I think there is one of Jub Jub with Connor too

Haha. You’re cute. I can’t say I’ve ever read that book, so it looks like you win. Have you gone over your word list? Get your mom or grandma to help you memorize those words and how to spell them. Just looking at them will not get you an A on the test. I’ll get your grandma to give you the quiz on Sunday (your time) if possible. Remember, if you don’t do well on the quiz, you need to study harder for the test.

by two days after the vocabulary was put on a list I had made sure Katie could spell them correctly and Knew what they meant in as many forms as we knew. We are not sure what Gus means. Katie can do it again next week though

I have a question for you uncle john . What is thepoint of buying a book if you arnte going to read it your just going to sell it ? I much perfer buying a manga and reading it its alot more fun. I also have another question only this one is for Hwajung.Have you ever heard of Inuyasha? It is the best manga I have ever read so far I have volume 1 of the manga I finished it yestreday its also the best television sieries I have ever seen! I have become totaly obsesed with Inuyasha! Ranma 1/2 is fun to but im going to try to buy all the Inuyasha stuff first . talk to you later bye!
