Here are 10 great songs I think everyone should know from the sixties. Don’t get too upset if a great song has missed the list. I probably agree with you, but there’s only so much space.
1. All Along The Watchtower – Jimi Hendrix (1967)
Written in 1967 by Bob Dylan, this song was covered by Hendrix the following year.
2. Son of a Preacher Man – Dusty Springfield (1969)
3. For What It’s Worth – Buffalo Springfield (1967)
The group that launched Neil Young’s career. Can’t claim to be a Young fan, but this is a favorite.
4. Piece Of My Heart – Janis Joplin (1968)
This is one of many incredible covers done in the sixties.
5. Tracks of My Tears – Smoky Robinson (1965)
