Korean Movies

Here is a list of highly recommended Korean movies that I think most people will love. If you like movies, be sure to check these out.

Taegukgi (also Tae Guk Gi): Brotherhood of War

Starring two of Korea’s most popular stars, ruggedly handsome Jang Dong-gun and the ever polished Won Bin, this is one of the best war movies you’ll find. The movie follows two brothers as they get split apart and end up fighting on opposite sides in battle.

Scandal Makers

A very entertaining, sweet comedy about people who have kids at a young age, this movie is well worth the watch. The real title, Gwa-sok Scandal, means speeding scandal. In Korea, when you have kids too young, they say you’ve been speeding. Don’t speed!

Marathon

This is a film based on the inspiring, true story of a young man with autism. Before discovering that running soothed and helped connect him with

his environment, his mother had to coax him along with choco pies (aka moon pies or wagon wheels). After seeing his talent among “normal”

runners, the mother focuses all of her energy into doing a full marathon in less than 4 hours. A codependence develops that drives the father away and estranges the other son. A great movie for anyone to see.
